Local Workgroup Meetings
The West Virginia Conservation Districts are conducting Local Work Group
meetings to identify agricultural related resource issues and develop Farm Bill
funding recommendations. Individuals and agencies with expertise in ag-related
natural resource issues are invited to attend and participate. Listed below are
the dates of scheduled Local Work Group meetings. If you have an interest in
attending any of the Local Work Groups, feel free to contact the local
Conservation Districts directly.
At this time, it is unknown what the Farm Bill funding appropriations will be,
nor is it known what the Environmental Quality
Incentives Program (EQIP) rules will be. It may be necessary for Districts
to hold a second meeting to refine their proposals once the funding levels and
Rules are known. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Local
Conservation District directly, or call
Jim Piper, Assistant State Conservationist for Operations, at 304-284-7540.
