From the Field

Mountain Resources Conservation and Development Area

The Mountain RC&D just entered into cooperative agreements with Wolfpen Knob Development Company and WV NRCS to develop conservation plans for coal mine mitigation on the Elk River Watershed. This project is being evaluated for potential income for the RC&D and the opportunity for NRCS to direct mitigation funds for crucial conservation needs.

Over the past 3 months Mountain RC&D working the Operation Sharing program has delivered to its counties an estimated $1 million worth of donated school supplies to area teachers and educators.
