Farmland Information Center Sample Documents

The Farmland Information Center (FIC) offers a sample documents area on its website. This feature provides easy access to toolseasements, LESA systems, excerpts from comprehensive plans, and moreused by communities to protect agricultural resources and support agriculture.

Using the search feature, visitors can filter by state, topic, type of resource and/or entity. Search results can be sorted by title, category, and date. An advanced search is also available.

The FIC is a clearinghouse for information about farmland protection and stewardship. It is a partnership between the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and American Farmland Trust.

Preserving the World's Seeds

There's an effort afoot to preserve the diversity of the world's crops by collecting seeds. Those seeds will go into the Svalbard Global Seed Vault now being built in Norway, above the Arctic Circle.
