Overview: Little Kanawha RC&D is helping children in Wirt County with environmental education

Accomplishments: Little Kanawha RC&D is helping children in Wirt County with environmental education through the development and enhancement of a 10 acre wetland. The wetland viewing area consists of a scenic overlooks and over 100 feet of board walk with an observation deck. Nearly 400 students utilize the wetland area for classroom studies on an annual basis

Program Benefits to Community:  Little Kanawha RC&D is currently providing funds to assist with a picnic shelter / pavilion adjacent to the wetland for public use and expanded classroom opportunities. The wetland is located within the County Park System and provides the general public with wildlife observation and bird watching venues
